You are “Free To Be You” in Sedona and the Verde Valley
Sedona, Arizona, is America’s destination for getting in touch with yourself. From a progressive community that embraces LGBT equality to its strong artistic identity, from its deep spiritual roots to its plethora of outdoor activities among its legendary Red Rocks and even to its status as a wedding destination, Sedona is a land of beauty that refreshes the mind, body and soul. Like the theme of a past Sedona Verde Valley PRIDE Festival, you are “Free To Be You” in Sedona!
Sedona and the Verde Valley (including Cottonwood, Jerome, Camp Verde and other small area towns) has dozens of LGBT-owned businesses, as well as many LGBT-friendly businesses, hotels and organizations, such as a local chapter of PFLAG (Parents, Family & Friends of Lesbians and Gays) and the LGBT Wellness Foundation.
There are plenty of tours–hiking, jeep, helicopter, hot air balloon, airplane–shopping galore at local and outlet retailers, world-class art galleries, spas, resorts, fine dining, and there is almost always a festival going on!
Annual PRIDE-sponsored events have included the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the Family BBQ & Picnic in April, the Big Gay Art Show, Hallowqueen, and the Sedona/Verde Valley PRIDE Festival every September. Also, don’t forget to check out the PRIDE Victory Garden, a year-round community project. Other parties and events pop up throughout the year, so check sedonapride.org for current news and events.
