One of the great joys of moving to Sedona in August of 1999 was my first experience of our incredible monsoon season. I had lived at or near sea level all my life and at 4300 feet, my experience of weather was altogether different. In Boston, Detroit, and Washington DC, the weather is up above you and coming down on you. Here in Sedona it feels like you are right up there in the middle of it all, especially in thunderstorms. Especially in storms like the one pictured above, from just a couple of days ago.
So, come to Sedona this week if you can, and when a thunderstorm rolls in (usually around 4 or 5 PM) find yourself on a covered porch or patio somewhere and experience the the storm at eye level. That alone is worth the trip!
